We met at QV's on Friday Afternoon to meet up with some of the weary travellers. This was the primary meeting place for a short ride up to the "Scooter House" for the kegger. They make gooooooood coffee :) If you're in town, stop by for coffee at QV's.

One of our club members recently repainted her bike. Polished headset is a really nice touch. mmmmmmmmm...
CCSC President talks to the Press. We were on TV the next day. sweeet.
Hot Rod truck. Looking at the Scoots. |
Byron Showed up on his awesome green 90. |
Next Day. We lined the causeway with scoots just before we headed out on the bonus ride. |
After riding, we met at christies carriage house. It was probably the most fun of all the pub meets. everyone was enjoying themselves. |
Enjoying themselves. |
Martin Sporting his BRIGHT PURPLE SHIRT! He had the cooooolest scooter cuff-links. It came as a shock to us all, really. |
The ScooterMD crew. Note: Star Trek is playing on the adjacent TV. |
And the DARK SIDE ;) I'm pretty sure he saw me take this one. |
The TV with the lock on it is showing the Video footage taken earlier that day. We all cheered when we heard the report. |
Next Day. Breakfast at Pags. There was a HUGE turnout to pags that day. We filled the little restaurant to the brim. Omlettes are GOOOOOOD. |
Colorful scoots outside Pagliaccis. Sort of an artsy shot, I guess. |
Once we were done at Pags, we headed out for our long Sunday ride. This is a shot of us filling up at the Gas Station. Lots of scoots showed up for the ride. I was amazed how well the ride went. Pretty much the whole pack made the ride without incident. Sooke is a beautiful place to ride. |
Shari showed up all the way from portland sporting a hella nice Fenderlight on a hella nice scooter trailer. The trailer is called a "Vespa Tote" the thing actually lowers the back wheel to the ground and adjusts to any size scooter tire. Coooool. |
On our Sooke ride, dubbed both the "engine cleaner" and the "killer sooke portage," landed us at the six mile pub for a pee break and pints for many. This was the only stop on the ride, but it gave everyone a rest for the long, beautiful ride ahead of them. The picture is of two mod bikes: the left is "Best Mod" winner for this year. |
Here we are at Sooke school. This was the area for gymkhana events. There was a super good turnout for this meet. We handed out our 50 / 50 tickets here |
This is the line to get a hot dog from Mr. Tubesteak, who was kind enough to hang around for half an our while we got there. I think we made his day. |
Here's to the hero. This guy was really grumpy, but he gave us hot dogs for a small fee, so what the hell? Here's to the grumpy Mr. Tubesteak Guy! |
Mark talks to the press about Lammys and Vespas. Jake, The guy with the camera, was kind enough to take some footage of the ride while on the back of a scooter. It should make for a hell of a rally video :) |
Gymkhana Events
Check out a video montage of the event. The bike shown in the pic belongs to Sean of the D69 crew. The bike entertained us with crazy disco music thanks to speakers strapped to the rear rack.
Rob's Vampire bike got a bit dinged up on the ride back from Sooke :<. It started to rain, making riding a bit hairy. We weren't able to get through the whole ride and everyone kind of went their separate ways. This picture is from in fromt of the Harbour Canoe Club. I had a Turkey Sandwich and lots of Coke.
The rain disappeared right after the ride. I guess someone had killed a kitten or something to make the scooter gods angry. The olympic range was beautiful as I rode home, I pulled off the road and snapped a shot. I went home with a big smile on my face (as usual).
Lambrettas outside the Lucky Bar. Django was spinning some mad R&B and Ska. The bar was nice inside. Even as a Victoria resident, I had never gone to this place.
Chris, Gerry and Mark from the CCSC take in money at the door. I eye the pinball machine. I ended up getting a high score of 277314... Next year I expect to play it alot more. I stopped playing when Will from ScooterMD blasted his air horn. yeesh.
Sarah in the wig, Martin in the fez. Both of them on MY pinball machine :) Will blows his air horn again... eeeeek. Lots of people won at the 50/50, but not me :). Lucky was a great place to just hang out. note the Brew and View movie is Quadrophenia. |
